These are rules built into the product, not aspirations. If we ever change one, we will say so on this page.
Career growth and learning
Upfolk exists to help people find work and grow, especially people outside big-company networks.
- Every job posted on Upfolk must show a salary range. You cannot post a job without one. Listings we import from public job boards are labelled as such and link to the employer.
- Job seekers and freelancers use Upfolk for free. Applying, messaging and building a profile cost nothing.
- Freelancers can list their skills and rate and be contacted directly by people hiring, with no middleman taking a cut.
- Salary and hiring insights built from Upfolk jobs will be free to view, so anyone can check what a role pays before they apply or negotiate.
Social impact
Professional networking should work for small teams and freelancers, not only large companies.
- Upfolk is built for founders, freelancers and teams of fewer than 50 people.
- No recruiter spam: our community guidelines ban mass messaging and pay-to-apply jobs, and every report is reviewed.
- Market insights are only ever published as anonymous aggregates of 10 or more people. You can opt out in the app.
- We never sell or share data about you as an individual. Messages are private to the two people in them.
